John Howard - Power Grab

[quote]
A key theme of the Howard Government's four terms in office has been the centralisation of power. This has involved drawing powers away from the States and Territories towards Commonwealth, illustrated most vividly in 2005 with changes to the industrial relations system. Within the government, the object of centralisation agenda has been to gather power around the Prime Minister's office and Cabinet."

The above is just one example. A more recent one is the power grab regarding the Indigenous people in Northern Territory which has been a discussion point across all fields of media.

The Australia people need to, MUST take note of what John Howard has been and continues to do and more importantly think about what all this power grabbing really means to each and everyone one of us. Do we, the "she'll be right mate" dinkum Aussies want a dictatorship government?

Do we?

I mean, really are we watching what is going on around us and thinking about the longer term consequences of our "she'll be right mate" attitude. I think we all, every single one of us MUST know exactly how we make our bed because it may not be so comfortable a year of two or three down the track.
