Another Case of RSPCA Neglect

I believe those that stay informed through their own research and/or their own personal experience with the RSPCA know only too well just how poorly the RSPCA addresses the 'REAL' cruelty issues. Below is yet another personal experience which is reproduced here with the kind permission of the author to whom I extend my gratitude for allowing me to share it with my readers.

Tonight at work I got a call from Laidley Police to advise that a car had hit a goat on the road and smashed its leg - but the goat had survived. They requested that we contact the local council to see if the goat could be attended to as the owners were not home (goat hit in front of where it lived) and even after extensive searching - we could not get contact details for that address.

I contacted the local council and were advised that because the goat had dragged itself into its yard - it was no longer a council matter (goat had to be on the road for them to attend) and told me to call the RSPCA. I knew that that was probably the end of the road and I was right. I found numerous 'After Hours' numbers for the RSPCA and NONE answered. Even the after hours number on their own recording rang out.

Considering that you can rarely if ever get them to take action when advised of cruelty and apparently they dont work on weekends or after hours - I wonder what the point is and why so much money is thrown at them?
